Nifty 50 entries pour in

For a couple weeks now, my e-mail inbox has been flooded with images and information about a variety of powersports products and services.

There’s a wide selection to look at, from new units to motorcycle parts to apparel to dealer services and more. Each is an entry into Powersports Business’ Nifty 50 contest. The competition, in its 12th year with the magazine, aims to highlight the “niftiest” products and services set for release in 2011.

The entries are still trickling in for the first deadline. Though the cutoff was technically Thursday, Dec. 16, forms coming a few days late will still be considered for the first round. A second deadline will be announced shortly.

The chosen Nifty 50 will appear in the Jan. 17 and Feb. 7 issues of Powersports Business in two parts. All 50 will also be posted online at PowersportsBusiness.com, and they will appear in that February issue which will be available at the Dealer Expo in Indy. Though booth numbers will appear with the winning entries that have an Indy booth, for the first time ever, companies don’t have to exhibit at Indy to be eligible.

For dealers, this contest gives you a chance to view the latest and greatest products and services as decided by the editors of Powersports Business and its sister consumer magazines. For companies that produce these products and services, it’s another opportunity to show them off.

If you have a possible entry, please send it in to me by downloading the form here and e-mailing it to me at ehochstedler@affinitygroup.com. And dealers, keep an eye out for those upcoming issues. Personally, I can’t wait to go through the applications and view what’s to come for 2011.
