When faced with challenges, Power 15 dealers show innovation

Staying in business over the past several years has not been easy, yet some dealerships have found innovative ways to not only persevere through the hard times, but to actually succeed and better their business permanently.

We at Powersports Business asked some of those dealers to be part of our inaugural Power 15 class. Power 15 is an editorial honors program that we created to prop up a few exceptional dealers and use their success to inspire others.

The stories we heard about the steps these dealers have taken to succeed were nothing short of amazing. These dealers have pushed themselves and their staffs to be creative in thinking of ways to make a profit, and they’ve found some great formulas along the way.

Some of the innovative ideas you’ll find in the Power 15 supplement are:

  • A VIP maintenance plan at Adam Smith’s Texas Harley-Davidson and Texoma Harley-Davidson, offering buyers unlimited service for a set period of time, free bike rental when their bike is being serviced and more.
  • A commitment to tire sales that leads to service profits at America’s Motor Sports.
  • Events that draw in children and their parents, cultivating customers for years to come, at Fay Myers Motorcycle World.
  • A general manager at Mosites Motorsports who’s willing to learn the ins and outs of managing each department to better his store as a whole.

And that’s just the tip of the iceberg. There are dozens of best practices like this from our Power 15, which can be found by clicking here. The Power 15 special section also was inserted into the Dec. 21 issue of Powersports Business.

Now, we know these aren’t the only 15 dealers that have gone above and beyond. If you’re thinking your dealership has made some similar innovative moves, we can’t wait to hear about them! This spring we’re launching a larger Power 50 program, which all dealers will be encouraged to apply for. We know those stories are out there because trust us, picking only 15 for the opening program was no easy task.

In the meantime, be on the lookout for our Power 15 webinar sponsored by GE Capital coming in February, during which you can gain even more insight from select Power 15 dealers.
