It’s Nifty Fifty time. Are you entered?

If you’re a distributor or an aftermarket manufacturer and you’re planning to introduce a new product at the Dealer Expo in Indianapolis next month, listen up. It’s time to get your application in for the fourth annual Nifty Fifty contest sponsored by Powersports Business magazine.
The contest is simple. Just fill out the form on Page 7 of this magazine and e-mail it with a photo of your product to me at jdelmont@affinitygroup.com. Photos should be high resolution (at least 266 dpi) and in Tiff format. Or, you can FAX me the form and mail the picture, or mail both the form and picture. How’s that for flexibility?
Editors from Powersports Business and our sister consumer magazines in the powersports industry will select the 50 most interesting new products at the show.
To be eligible, products must be available at the Dealer Expo, they must be new or substantially improved from previous years and they must be ready for delivery in calendar year 2003.
Distributors can send in products they represent and aftermarket companies can send in products they’re planning to introduce in 2003.
We won’t test products; we’ll just make our choices from the materials you send us. And since we’re not testing the products, we’re not saying they’re the best at the show.
We are saying, however, that dealers might want to take a look at them during their walk through the show. And for dealers who don’t make it to Indianapolis, it should provide helpful information on new products slated for introduction in 2003.
Nifty Fifty winners will be written up in the next two issues of Powersports Business, will be listed on a poster in the Powersports Business show booth, and will receive a personalized plaque for their booth and office display.
Those companies advertising in Powersports Business also will receive a Nifty Fifty logo for their ads. Call David Voll at 763/383-4421 for advertising information.
The Nifty Fifty contest quickly has become one of the most popular programs at the show. Don’t miss your opportunity to be selected. Send your information in today. We’ll be picking the first 25 winners this week and the second 25 winners the week of Jan. 13. Good luck.

five years and a new look
This issue marks the Fifth Anniversary of publishing for Powersports Business magazine, and we’ve marked the occasion with a new look.
In keeping with our mission to provide timely trends and business information on the powersports industry, the redesign features classic type faces and design elements that speed up reading.
Take Page One, for example. The redesign makes it easier for you to pick out the important stories in each issue of Powersports Business. We’ve pumped up promotion of our important Focus Sections by telling you, in the top right hand corner of the cover, in pictures and type, what the Focus report is in each issue.
We’ve also added three story promotion items at the top of the page to let you know about other hot features in the issue. Of course, we still have the four Inside Powersports stories identified at the bottom of the page.
That means, at a glance, you’ll see eight important story promotions, plus two Page One stories, plus several Hot News items.
Talk about a quick read: You’ll get information on about a dozen stories — SNAP — just like that. No fumbling. No searching. Just quick, solid communications. And the rest of the magazine works the same way.
Plus, we’ll be adding several new features and writers in upcoming issues. But more about those later. Enjoy.
