Aug. 16, 2004 – Dealer profit slips in June

Overall dealer profitability, as measured by Top Gun dealers nationwide, slipped in June to 10.6%, basically flat from May when it was 10.7%. In June 2003, the profit margin was only 10.1%. Overall net profit for the year through June was 7.1%, an improvement over the 6.7% YTD figure recorded in May and the 6.3% in April. The profit margin through June 2003 was 7.4%.
Showroom traffic was flat in June compared to the same month last year. Traffic was up 2% in March and 2% in April, compared to the same months last year. psb
