American Honda's Motorcycle Division unveiled its 2005 product Sept. 8 at the company's annual dealer show at the Opryland Hotel in Nashville, Tenn. Honda has introduced 35 new powersports products in the past four years. Now with over 70 motorcycle, scooter, ATV and personal watercraft models, Honda's product lineup is the broadest in the industry.
New is the VTX1800F, a performance cruiser adding yet another look to the VTX line-up; an upgraded CBR600RR; and the ST1300P, a police special.
Off road, the CR250R gets a completely new engine and host of chassis improvements, the CR125R receives a new two-stroke powerplant, and the CRF450X enters the mix as an open class off road racer with electric start.
Another addition to Honda’s two-wheel family, but this one available only in yellow, is the Big Ruckus, a 250cc version of the 50cc scoot.
In ATVs, a new suspension, ergonomics and SUV-type styling come to the FourTrax Recon ES/FourTrax Recon; the FourTrax Foreman Rubicon is now offered equipped with TraxLok, front disc brakes and new styling; and the TRX400EX now features reverse and new bodywork.
In personal watercraft, the AquaTrax F-12 has a revised powerplant and jet pump, and the F-12X comes with GPScape, Honda's on-board GPS navigation system.
