BRP ordered to pay dealer
A district judge in Montana ordered Bombardier Recreational Products Inc. (BRP) to pay $7.7 million to dealership Hi-Tech Motor Sports Inc. of Billings, Mont.
A jury found that Hi-Tech sustained $7.26 million in damages when BRP, in 2001, pulled Hi-Tech’s dealer license and repossessed its snowmobiles. Attorney’s fees are included in the $7.7 million award.
According to Montana’s Dealer Protection Act, which covers auto and powersports dealers, a dealership agreement can only be canceled when the state’s Department of Motor Vehicles agrees that the supplier has good cause.
Canadian snowmobile apparel maker Choko Design International Inc. is expanding to a larger building, though it will still be located in St. Leonard, Quebec, near Montreal.
The new corporate address is 4750 Jarry St. E., Suite 100, St. Leonard, QC H1R 1X8.
