March 12, 2007 – A BlueRibbon day

On a cold, blustery Indianapolis morning, leaders in the powersports industry gathered at the Hyatt Regency for a lively, laughter-filled breakfast and auction to help raise money to ensure land access for future generations of riders.
The BlueRibbon Coalition held its ninth annual Breakfast of Champions Feb. 18 during Dealer Expo, and the event included current and former racing champions, along with a live auction, emceed by Larry Maiers, AMA Hall of Fame inductee and host of the first regularly scheduled motorcycle show in the United States, Motoworld.
Champions in attendance included Malcolm Smith, shown at right, Bob Hannah, Don Emde, Scot Harden, Chuck Sun and Randy Hawkens.
This year’s featured champion was Chris Carr, the first man to travel on a motorcycle at more than 350mph. When asked what it felt like to go that fast in a motorcycle, he replied, “When you’re going that fast everything happens so quickly it’s hard to be able to enjoy the moment. I was mainly focused on keeping the vehicle straight.” psb
