Hydro-Turf To Sponsor Surf Slam
Officials from the Pismo Beach Surf Slam announced that Hydro-Turf has signed on as the title sponsor. The event will now be dubbed the Hydro-Turf Surf Slam. The freeride extravaganza is set for Oct. 19-21 in conjunction with the Oceano Dunes Beach Race Weekend, and will be held along with the WORCS Motocross Races and Smashing Pismo Beach Party. The Surf Slam will be the fifth and final stop on this year’s International Freeride Watercraft Association (IFWA) Freeride tour. Organizers expect more than 30 freeriders to battle it out for cash and prizes. In addition, points will be awarded toward the crowning of this year’s IFWA World Championship.
World Finals Exhibitors
According to news from the International Jet Sports Boating Association, more then 40 vendors have already signed on for the 2007 IJSBA Trade Show, scheduled to run alongside the 2007 Quakysense World Finals from Oct. 6-14. The IJSBA is hoping for a record number of participants this year, and has set a goal of 60 vendors. Those signed up already include a who’s who of companies from the PWC arena, as well as a number of welcome outsiders. According to the IJSBA, a number of crossover motorsports, lifestyle and cultural exhibits will be added to the event over the coming weeks.
Crash Test Dummies Wanted
The National Association of Safe Boating Law Administrators (NASBLA) is looking for candidates to crash in staged, two-vessel collisions the organization will use for future accident investigation training. Once crashed, the agency will relocate the vessels to the National Transportation Safey Board’s Training Academy in Ashburn, VA.
Boats need to be in operation condition, and must also include a trailer. For more information, contact the NASBLA at 859/225-9487. psb
