JAMA production, exports continue to fall

The Japanese Automobile Manufacturers Association (JAMA) reported Honda, Kawasaki, Suzuki and Yamaha have collectively decreased bike production and exports for November compared to the previous year, JAMA said in a statement Dec. 26.

Motorcycle production in November ended with 137,417 units created. Compared with the same month of the previous year, this is a 17.2 percent decrease (28,592 units), and a production decrease on the same month of the previous year for three consecutive months.

Motorcycle exports for the month were recorded at 98,128 units. Compared with the units exported during November 2006, this is a 20,799-unit decrease, down 17.5 percent. It is an export decrease on the same month of the previous year for two consecutive months.
