LS Motorsports Will Use ARI’s Online Parts Catalog

ARI, a provider of technology-enabled business solutions for dealers, distributors and manufacturers, announced LS Motorsports of Houston, Texas, has selected PartSmart Web, ARI’s Web-based electronic parts catalog, for use by its 300 U.S. dealers.
LS Motorsports is an importer and distributor of scooters, ATVs, UTVs, on- and off-road motorcycles.
Under the agreement, ARI will develop and host PartSmart Web ASP to provide ongoing updates for the Diamo, Italjet and Fischer product lines. Using PartSmart Web, dealers will have on-demand access to the parts catalogs for each motorcycle, scooter, ATV and UTV product. In addition, dealers will be able to submit online purchase orders anytime using ARI’s Shopping Cart feature. LS Motorsports introduced PartSmart Web to its dealers at Dealer Expo.

Helmet House Adds to its Sales Management Staff

Helmet House hired Ivan Penchansky as a regional sales manager for the northwest United States, a company press release announced.
Penchansky previously worked for Thor Motocross where he was national sales manager.
Helmet House President and co-founder Bob Miller says he’s optimistic Penchansky will be an essential asset to the company. “We look forward to the contributions Ivan will be making to a vitally important region to our continued sales growth,” said Miller.

Fox Factory Adds General Counsel, Chief Patent Counsel

Fox Factory announced David Haugen will be general counsel and chief patent counsel for the company.
Haugen was previously an attorney with a patent firm, Patterson & Sheridan. His practice included patent and trademark preparation, prosecution, litigation, licensing, opinions, portfolio management, copyrights, trade secrets and mergers and acquisitions and commercial transactions.
Bob Fox, president of Fox Factory, says the company wanted someone with Haugen’s degree of experience.
“We are pleased to have recruited an in-house attorney of David’s caliber,” Fox said. “His experience and expertise, particularly in the fields of intellectual property and contract law, will ensure that all Fox inventions are protected at the highest level.”

Due to demand from their automotive and small-engine customers, E3 Spark Plugs is introducing a new line of plugs for the powersports market.

LoJack Negotiates Insurance Discounts in Some States

LoJack Corp., a motorcycle recovery system provider, has established relationships with multiple insurance companies in the United States to offer policy discounts and/or waivers of deductibles for motorcycle owners who purchase LoJack For Motorcycles, the company said in a statement March 3.
The company has secured new relationships with GEICO and Progressive and has expanded its agreements with Foremost Insurance Group and Rider Insurance.
GEICO will offer policyholders in New Jersey and Rhode Island 20 percent off its comprehensive coverage immediately, and plans to offer this discount to policyholders in other states in the near future.
Progressive also will offer policyholders with LoJack For Motorcycles 20 percent off its comprehensive coverage. The discount, now available in Michigan, Ohio and Virginia, will be offered in most states where LoJack For Motorcycles is available by the end of the year.
Under LoJack’s expanded agreements, Rider Insurance will offer policyholders a 50 percent reduction on their comprehensive deductible if they have LoJack For Motorcycles, a theft occurs and the bike is not recovered.
With LoJack’s enhanced program with Foremost, the specialty insurer of Farmers Insurance, the insurance company will provide policyholders a deductible waiver of up to $500 if they have LoJack For Motorcycles installed and a theft occurs.

Company Offers a Network of Distribution Centers

AGS, a U.S.-based transportation and logistics providers, has announced the development of the AGS Turnkey Distribution Network.
This new service provides customers the ability to use more than 100 fully staffed AGS distribution centers and depots located nationwide, often on less than 48 hours advance notice. Eight of these centers, in strategic locations across the U.S., will be open 24/7 to meet urgent customer space and inventory control needs.
Whether customers use the AGS centers for the regional distribution of products, inventory of spare parts, as a return depot, or for order fulfillment, they will only pay for the space and logistical services they actually use.

Triton Announced its Top 2007 Canadian and U.S. Dealers

Triton Corp. announced its 2007 Canadian and U.S. dealers of the year.
Martin Equipment was awarded the 2007 Canadian Dealer of the Year, and Ingles Performance was named U.S. Dealer of the Year.
These awards are given to dealers who have shown dedication to the Triton product and go above and beyond in areas of quality, service, sales and marketing.
Martin Equipment is located in Edmonton, Alb. They originated as a John Deere dealership, then the boating industry and then picked up the recreational industry. They manage all of these industries and have been selling Triton Trailers for four years. They carry Triton snowmobiles, enclosed, utility and PWC trailers.
Ingles Performance is a powersports dealer in Phoenix, N.Y. They started out as a motorcycle repair shop.They have been selling Triton Trailers since 1992. They carry Triton snowmobile, enclosed, utility, PWC and pontoon trailers.
“Ingles customers come to them from different states. They come because they have the confidence that Mike (the owner) and his employees are honest and knowledgeable about their products,” said James Fisk of Fisk Distributing, Triton’s regional distributor of the New England states.
Triton also awarded eight other dealerships for their performance. These dealers are B&B Trailers of Hartford, Wis., Clawson Motorsports of Fresno, Calif., Foster Brothers of Delano, Minn., Jet Chevrolet of Federal Way, Wash., Lakeside Service of Kewaskum, Wis., Nielsen Enterprises of Lake Villa, Ill., Reinhart Trailer Sales of Brampton, Ont., and St. Boni Motorsports of St. Bonificious, Minn.

Bridgestone Tires Available On Andretti/Benelli Motorbikes

Bridgestone Firestone North American Tire and Power Sports Factory have announced that a range of Bridgestone motorcycle tires will be available on the entire line of Power Sports Factory’s Andretti/Benelli motorbikes by the end of this year.
The only motorbikes endorsed by racing legend Mario Andretti, the line combines top performance, competitive pricing and cutting-edge European design from Benelli.
“Given (Bridgestone Firestone North American Tire’s) long-standing relationship with Mario Andretti, and the Bridgestone brand’s reputation for high-performance motorcycle and motorbike tires, we found this to be a great opportunity to tie the two together,” said Phil Pacsi, vice president of consumer marketing of Bridgestone Firestone North American Tire.
Added Steve Kempenich, CEO of Power Sports Factory, “Power Sports Factory is very excited to be able to offer Bridgestone brand tires on our Andretti/Benelli motorbikes. In testing, the performance of our motorbikes dramatically improved when we replaced the original equipment tires with Bridgestone tires.”
