UTI appoints new director

Universal Technical Institute Inc. has named Alan Cabito to its board of directors, the company said in a press release May 5. Cabito will fill the vacancy created by the resignation of Kevin Knight.

Cabito began his career with Toyota Motor Sales in 1971. During the course of his 36-year tenure at Toyota, Cabito served in a variety of management roles and most recently was group vice president of sales administration. Cabito also served as the president of AirFlite, Toyota’s fixed-base operation located at the Long Beach, Calif., airport. Cabito retired from Toyota in December 2007.

“Alan brings us sales and marketing experience from his tenure at Toyota that will benefit UTI,” said Kimberly McWaters, president and chief executive officer of UTI.
