Progressive and LoJack Partner

LoJack is offering a $50 rebate on its Motorcycles Stolen Vehicle Recovery System, and Progressive customers who have LoJack installed on their bikes will receive a 20 percent discount on their comprehensive coverage, stated a Progressive press release.
Each LoJack system includes a silent radio transceiver that is automatically activated when a theft is reported to police. The system then sends out a signal that police vehicles, helicopters and fixed wing aircraft, if they are equipped with police tracking computers, can follow to recover the stolen motorcycle.
The rebate is good in the 26 states and the District of Columbia where LoJack operates. It’s expected to become available in several more states by the end of the year.

Yokohama Tire Advertising Through Baseball Teams

Yokohama Tire Corp. will use America’s favorite pastime as the backdrop for several tire dealer and consumer promotions for the coming summer.
Yokohama Tire has signed to be the official tire of two Triple-A minor league baseball teams, the Scranton Yankees and Memphis Redbirds, according to Dan King, Yokohama’s vice president of sales.
Each team will offer prominent signage, multiple hospitality events along with product displays.
There also will be promotions centered around the team and Yokohama Tire, including in-store ticket giveaways and in-stadium contests.
“The baseball sponsorships and promotions are designed to drive traffic to local dealers to enable them to sell more Yokohama tires,” said King.
The baseball sponsorships follow Yokohama’s partnerships this season with three NBA teams: the San Antonio Spurs, the Boston Celtics and the Golden State Warriors. Yokohama also partnered last season with three NFL teams, the Baltimore Ravens, Cleveland Browns and Atlanta Falcons, in addition to the college football programs at Pac-10 conference schools UCLA and USC.
Yokohama Tire Corp. is the North American manufacturing and marketing arm of Tokyo-based The Yokohama Rubber Co., a global producer and distributor of premium tires since 1917.
