Ducati’s worldwide motorcycle sales jump 19 percent

Ducati Motor Holding announced a 19 percent increase in new motorcycle sales for its first nine months of 2008.

During its first three quarters, Ducati sold 36,979 new bikes worldwide as opposed to 31,036 in the same time period a year ago.

Revenue for the first three quarters has increased 25 percent to $511 million.

Ducati Motor Holding CEO Gabriele Del Torchio said the company’s market share also has increased, to 5.5 percent from 4.7 percent.
