Honda adds new scooter to its 2010 model line

American Honda has added another 2010-model-year machine, the Elite scooter.
Modern, sporty styling, comfortable seating with 2-up capacity and strong, responsive performance in a sleek and highly economical scooter are the hallmarks of the new 2010 Elite. The new scooter features a new 108cc liquid-cooled, fuel-injected, four-stroke engine and a light-handling chassis.
Honda also introduced a new membership format for its popular Honda Riders Club of America (HRCA).
Effective immediately, new members may join the HRCA free of charge. People holding existing paid membership privileges in the HRCA will continue to receive additional exclusive benefits until that paid membership expires. In addition, all members will now have access to the new electronic-format Honda Red Rider magazine.
Prospective members may sign up online to join the HRCA at www.hrca.honda.com, and the digital Honda Red Rider magazine also will be made available at this site as well.

KYMCO will be affiliated with major car racing series

KYMCO USA partnered with the IndyCar Series to be the official scooter and off-road utility vehicle of the series. KYMCO also will have official status with Firestone Indy Lights, a premier ladder series for drivers and teams striving to compete in the IndyCar Series, announced KYMCO.
Greg Gruning, vice president of sales for the Indy Racing League, added in the press release, “We couldn’t be more pleased to have a company like KYMCO come on board with the IndyCar Series. KYMCO manufactures quality products that the IndyCar Series staff will rely on throughout the course of the IndyCar Series season.”
Throughout 2009, IndyCar Series personnel will use KYMCO Super 8 150cc scooters and UXV 500 4X4 utility vehicles for various needs.

Fly Scooters now come with Roadside Assistance

Fly Scooters announced its line of 2009 products are now being offered with a new roadside assistance service for its customers. This is part of a joint commitment by Fly Scooters and Rider Rescue to support retail customers and dealers who want access to a better choice of service. A company press release by Fly Scooters said, “We at Fly Scooters recognize that the industry and economy is volatile this year, so we want to remove as much stress from our customer as possible, like complicated long-term contracts and high-order quantities by adding peace of mind through services like the new roadside assistance program.”

Custom OEM viper signs dealer network

Viper Motorcycle Co. a division of Viper Powersports, has signed an initial dealer network, the company said in a press release.
The new Viper Motorcycle dealers include Rick Fairless’ Strokers Dallas in Dallas, Bikers Custom in El Paso, Texas, Bikers Dream in Alpharetta, Ga.; and Rainbow Cycles in Rogers, Ark. psb
