May 3, 2010: Dealer educational event announced

Jim Roth, owner of Cycle Works in Canada, called it “a great benefit to my dealership.”

Candace Laidig, owner of powersports dealership Holeshot KTM, called it a “real eye-opener for me.”

John Sinski, business development manager of R. L. Polk & Co., called it “a great networking venue.”

The trio was speaking of Powersports Business’ inaugural Profit Xcelerator, a dealer education conference and expo held in September 2009.

The dates and place for this year’s event were just recently announced.

The 2010 Profit Xcelerator will be held at the Red Rock Casino Resort Spa in Las Vegas from Sept. 19-21. Like last year, the two-day event will host a variety of educational seminars and panels to help dealers increase profitability. ProfitX also will have numerous suppliers that dealers can visit with between educational sessions.

Last year’s inaugural event attracted more than 350 participants. Included in that number were more than 250 dealers from more than 40 states.

Attendees said they were thrilled with the event.

“The conference was excellent. I was impressed with both the attendees and exhibitors,” Sinski of R. L. Polk & Co. said. “In addition to meeting with many of the exhibitors, I was able to connect with managers and executives from KTM, Harley, Honda and Suzuki.”

Dealers were able to attend more than 15 seminars and panel discussions on a range of store profit centers, from new unit sales to PG&A profitability to e-commerce. Between these seminars, dealers visited with more than 25 leading industry suppliers — sponsors and exhibitors of the event — in a trade-show setting.

“Please stay tuned to PowersportsBusiness.com/PSBCE for regular updates on the event, especially this year’s educational lineup,” said Powersports Business Editor Neil Pascale. “We expect to make a number of exciting announcements in the coming weeks.”
