Harley-Davidson Financial Services is working with Manheim Specialty Auctions, ADESA and West Michigan Auto Auctions to produce a nine-city sales tour featuring preowned Harley-Davidson motorcycles.

The “2010 Road Rally” events, which HDFS says were developed to meet dealer demand for used inventory, kick off May 28 in Grand Rapids, Mich. More than 150 late-model Harley-Davidson motorcycles will be available at each auction.

Subsequent open dealer-only sales events are scheduled in these markets: June 9, Chicago; June 30, Seattle; July 14, York, Pa.; Aug. 25, Denver; Sept. 8, St. Louis; Oct. 12, Austin, Texas; and Oct. 21, Tucson, Ariz. A Harley-Davidson dealer-only event is scheduled for July 28, Las Vegas.

“As always, our mission is to ensure that authorized Harley-Davidson dealers have the first opportunity to select the premium preowned motorcycles most desired by loyal customers and brand enthusiasts,” Dave Woods, HDFS national auction sales manager, said in a release. “That’s why each sales event will feature an exclusive Harley-Davidson dealer-only closed event the day prior to the open sale. We are planning these sales events all over the country so dealers can save time and money. In order to allow for complete flexibility, dealers will be able to bid online or in-person.”

Harley-Davidson dealers also will receive special HDFS and auction offers, such as free local transportation within 50 miles of the sales event, floorplanning assistance and simplified auction access registration.
