Suzuki adds marine accessories to e-commerce program
American Suzuki Motor Corp. has added marine accessories to its online store, available at SuzukiMarine.com, expanding its online program beyond the motorcycle and ATV categories.
Using Shopatron’s retail-integrated e-commerce solution, Suzuki will assign online orders of marine accessories to local, authorized dealers. Consumers can choose to have those orders shipped directly from dealers or made available via in-store pickup.
Suzuki will offer its full line of marine accessories through its online store, including instruments, control boxes, cables and rigging, care and maintenance accessories and more.
“At Suzuki we do not sell directly to the consumer, we rely on our dealer network to sell and promote our products in their dealerships,” said Gary Sherfey, manager of Suzuki’s accessory sales and marketing group. “With the use of Shopatron we are able to help support our dealers by capturing and driving customers and sales into their dealerships.”
AWA Suspends Publication Of Ride Magazine
The final mainstream PWC magazine in the United States — Ride — is suspending publication. “Unfortunately we have reached the same point that our fellow PWC publications experienced recently,” said American Watercraft Association’s (AWA) Chris Manthos in a letter to AWA members. “We can no longer, under the current economic environment, afford to publish Ride at the expense of our primary role; the PWC communities’ access watchdog.
“This is a matter of dollars and cents.
We have long extolled the generosity of our advertisers to the membership. Every dollar they invested on the pages of Ride freed up a dollar to directly support our legislative and educational programs. Those efforts are the very purpose of AWA’s mission and we will continue to operate in this direct action role until the ugly specter of boating access discrimination is abolished.” PSB
