4/4/2011-A peek at what’s coming to market

The past few weeks have brought a blizzard of new 2012 model intros from different OEMs. Here is a look, by manufacturer, at some of those new models coming to market.
Arctic Cat
Arctic Cat showcased 23 new models at its recent dealer meeting, as well as performance-enhancing technologies and hundreds of new parts, garments and accessories. The new 2012 models will include exclusive new chassis, suspension, drive and braking technologies. Here is a look, by segment, of some of Arctic Cat’s 2012 offerings:

  • Trail performance: The company introduced nine trail performance models, from the sporty value F 570 to the F 1100 Turbo high-speed racing sled. New for 2012, the ultra-lightweight and strong ProCross Chassis, which Arctic Cat says delivers superior handling performance, assisted by the ARS front-suspension for unmatched bump control and a new Slide-Action rear suspension. Additionally, the all-new ProCross Chassis has the most powerful engine on a production snowmobile — its turbo-charged 1100 four-stroke EFI engine, which produces 177 hp.
  • Mountain: Arctic Cat offers nine new M Series mountain sled models for 2012.
  • Crossover: Matching the lightweight and agile ProCross Chassis with the 160-hp 800 H.O. engine, Arctic Cat delivers a crossover combination: the all-new XF800 LXR, XF800 Sno Pro and XF800 Sno Pro High Country.
  • Utility: New for 2012, Arctic Cat is introducing the Bearcat Z1 XT Groomer Special with unique features and accessories designed specifically to handle a range of trail grooming jobs.
  • Luxury touring: Arctic Cat invented the 2-up touring snowmobile segment and has added an entry T570 two-stroke, as well as three luxury TZ1 models.
  • Youth: For the youngest snowmobile enthusiasts, Arctic Cat offers the Sno Pro 120.
