Analyst: Polaris gaining ATV, UTV market share in Q2

Polaris Industries management said that second quarter ATV and side-by-side industry sales in North American are each tracking up year-over-year, according to a research note provided to Powersports Business by Wells Fargo Securities analyst Tim Conder.

Conder said that based on the meeting with Polaris management, Wells Fargo Securities believes that Polaris “continues to gain moderate share in each ATV and SxS categories. Motorcycle sales for the industry appear to be tracking better year-over-year in May vs. April and we believe Victory continues to perform above the market.”

Conder reports that Polaris “expects greater competition in the second half of 2012 (nothing new), but is very comfortable with Polaris model-year 2013 product response. The MVP program continues to be a major differentiating competitive factor given dealers ability to adjust orders ever two weeks and get delivery on average in approximately six weeks (goal 4-6 weeks).”
