Indian grand opening

Indian Motorcycle of Mineola in New York will host its grand opening June 24-28. It’s the first Indian dealership in metro NYC/Long Island and joins Yamaha, Suzuki, Can-Am and Victory on the dealership’s lineup. Door prizes, demo rides and more will be part of the event. The first 52 customers to go to the dealership’s website receive a free pair of JVC ear buds.

Harley dealer receives Patriot Award

Dubuque Harley-Davidson in Dubuque, Iowa, has been given a Patriot Award from the Iowa Committee for Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve, an agency of the Department of Defense. The award is given to employers to support their employees’ service, reported the Telegraph Herald of Dubuque. 

Another new Indian dealer

Grand Prix Motorsports in Colorado has taken on a new name with the addition of Indian Motorcycle to the dealership. Indian Motorcycle of the Rockies celebrated its grand opening last month. The dealership also sells motorcycles, ATVs, side-by-sides, scooters and PWC from Kawasaki, Polaris, Suzuki and Yamaha. Upstairs in the same building, Warhorse Firearms of the Rockies is part of the group and celebrated its grand opening, with each customer receiving an entry at the door to win a SCCY 9MM handgun or a Yeti cooler. The store features 1,100 guns in stock.

Restaurant partnership

Pete’s Cycle Co., with three locations in Maryland, is supporting the Bob Evans Community Fundraiser, Feed the Children, on June 21-22. Bob Evans will donate 15 percent of sales when customers present a flyer from Pete’s Cycle Co. at time of check out.

Making music

Knoxville Harley-Davidson is building a concert venue at its West location at 605 Lovell Road in Knoxville, Tenn. The new facility will be the third largest concert venue in Knox County, with a 4,000-person capacity, Knoxville.com reported. The $1 million stage is being built to accommodate artists that usually charge between $60,000 and $100,000 per performance. The dealership’s venue is being operated in conjunction with Cooper Moon Entertainment Group.

New Triumph dealer

Cycles 128 in Massachusetts is Triumph’s newest dealer, joining a lineup that includes Ducati, MV Agusta, KTM, Yamaha, Honda, Suzuki, KYMCO and The Auto Moto.

On the water demo days

Power 50 dealership Del Amo Motorsports, with three locations in California, will host its Yamaha On the Water Demo Days at the Long Beach Marine Stadium on June 22. Demo rides of Yamaha WaveRunners are available by reservation via phone or online.

Pegram to open dealership at racetrack

Larry Pegram, AMA SuperBike series veteran and star of reality show “Superbike Family,” has made public his plans to open a motorcycle dealership, performance shop and racing academy at the Sports Pavilion and Automotive Research Complex in Columbus, Ohio. The dealership at the racetrack and office complex is expected to open in about a year, though the track isn’t planned to be completed until the end of 2015 or the spring of 2016, reported The Columbus Dispatch. SPARC will also be home to the Richard Petty Driving Experience and a showroom for high-end auto dealer Midwestern Auto Group. Pegram plans to carry EBR bikes among other brands at his dealership, according to a press release.
