Kawasaki Ultra LX riders take on Never Quit Challenge

News Release

A personal watercraft adventure to benefit select veteran-supported charities [launched Monday].

The Never Quit Challenge is an invitational PWC adventure vetted by Special Operations military veteran teams onboard Kawasaki Ultra LX Jet Skis. This is a sea and land adventure ride. Kawasaki Motors Corporation USA is supporting the NQC with eight Ultra LX models.

The Never Quit Challenge is not open for participation to the general public; it’s a private charity ride for military personnel only.

Operators met in Morro Bay, Calif., on Sept. 7 for orientation and equipment set up. Operators are comprised of combat warriors and will provide ground support and rider exchanges at key refueling points. Operators will ride a minimum of 4-8 hours per day. Operators will deploy each morning at sunrise.

Operators will be carrying all federal and state required emergency and signaling gear and will be hosted with a tracking page for viewers to watch their progress. Operators will ride on behalf of four Never Quit Challenge select charities and will be raising funds donated by supporters through a crowdrise fundraising application.

They will be riding through approximately 600 miles of open water transits including fuel stops. Operators will be running the southern and central California coast, stopping at select locations. The route will go from Morro Bay to San Diego to the Channel Islands and back.

They will spend four days on the water, traversing 600 miles. Departure is Sept. 8, with completion Sept. 11.

In 2013, invited teams representing three charitable foundations supporting wounded veterans generated more than $100,000 in public donations.
