Industry service provider highlighted at Microsoft conference

News Release

DX1, Dominion Powersports’ dealership management platform, was featured at a recent Microsoft event along with other internationally known technology companies. Microsoft Connect(); highlighted the ways in which Microsoft Azure improves development of the DX1 platform.

Ray Escamilla, an IT manager for Dominion Powersports’ DX1, was a panelist at the event in New York. He discussed the efficiencies Microsoft’s cloud platform Azure has brought to DX1, the powersports industry’s only complete dealership management platform. Besides DX1, Microsoft’s Azure powers a number of other high-profile platforms like Skype, Bing and Xbox.

With executives from HP, Skanska and other high-profile technology companies as fellow panelists, Escamilla shared how Azure technology has accelerated results for the DX1 development team.

“To be selected by Microsoft to speak at their developer conference illustrates how revolutionary DX1 is in the industry,” said Damir Tresnjo, vice president of technology for Dominion Powersports. “Dealers no longer have to log into multiple applications from various vendors, so DX1 really streamlines a dealership’s day-to-day operations.”

DX1’s complete dealership management platform combines operational and marketing functionality, bringing together separate applications in one interface. Since it is built on Microsoft’s Azure cloud platform, DX1 eliminates the need for dealerships to host and manage servers, saving both time and money for dealers. For DX1’s staff, the Azure cloud platform allows them to introduce new features on a more frequent basis and to pinpoint and troubleshoot an issue quickly.

“We’re able to be more responsive to our dealerships through our use of Microsoft’s cloud solutions,” Tresnjo explained.

As part of the New York event, DX1 was featured in a case study and video highlights which can be viewed on Microsoft’s Customer Stories’ portal and Connect(); event website.

  1. Technology for the sake of technology is nice if you’re doing pure R&D or in the world of academia. The real challenge is making it work to add value to your customers and, from what I hear, the jury is still out on DX1. Only time and the market place will tell if they were successful.
