ATV/UTV World Championship set for Eagle River, Wis., in August

The AMSOIL World Championship Derby Track in Eagle River, Wis., will be hosting the newest, hottest, most exciting type of racing on the horizon…UTV/ATV Racing. There will be stock and modified racing all three days for all classes on a challenging motocross style track as well as oval racing on the modified “World Famous Derby Track Bowl.” Drivers…get ready to run head to head against the clock through the infield “Mud Bowl.”
“This will be an exciting event,” said Chuck Decker, President and Owner of the AMSOIL World Championship Derby Track. “The mud bowl will be a combination of clay, sand and of course water, and will be an opportunity for racers to see just how good their UTV/ATV handles in the mud…truly a UTV-Mudarama!” says Decker.
Also noted will be a “Field Mud Pit” at the North end of the RV area for all those “V-errs” to have some fun.
A large number of UTV/ATV manufactures and aftermarket suppliers from all over North America will be on hand to exhibit their newest and greatest products. There will be a designated area for enthusiasts to demo select UTV/ATV models from the manufactures wishing to participate. In addition, there will be a UTV/ATV swap meet area that will be open all three days. Numerous other family fun activities are also planned for the entire weekend.
Camping, RV and motorhome sites will be available right on the Derby grounds.
“Make your reservation now, as camping space will be selling out fast,” says Decker. “You will be able to ride from your camp site right out to the newly opened UTV/ATV legal trial system in Vilas County. You will also be able to access down town Eagle River right from your camping site as well.
The Friday night “Firecracker” will feature the always exciting “Extreme Free Style Show” in the Derby Bowl. Teams from all over the mid-west are expected to participate in this spectacular event. Saturday night, after a day of action packed racing, will be highlighted by a huge bonfire, live music and $1.00 hot dogs, beer and soda.
The World Championship UTV/ATV Races will take place Sunday afternoon. The weekend will wind-up Sunday evening with an awards presentation and the honoring of the first UTV/ATV World Champions taking place in the Derby Expo Hall.
