MIC annual meeting draws a crowd at Dealer Expo

How can the industry turn some of the 76 million members of Generation Y into motorcyclists? That was the topic of the keynote address at the 2012 Motorcycle Industry Council Annual Meeting on Thursday.

The event, which kicked off Dealer Expo in Indianapolis, provided the more than 200 industry members in attendance with an inside look at targeting the segment of the population that represents $150 billion in annual spending.

MIC president and CEO Tim Buche told Powersports Business afterward that event drew its largest crowd ever.

Keynote speaker Josh Rubin consults for clients on strategy, content and design for digital products, services and publications and on the overlapping roles of user experience, content and digital media. He’s the founder and editor-in-chief of Coolhunting.com.

The second session of the Annual Meeting featured Adam Stalnaker and Sean Conroy of Three Gallant Creative. They’ve created design and copy for clients such as Absolut Vodka, Malibu Rum, the NBA and Discover Today’s Motorcycling. The two unveiled new website and marketing projects they’ve produced for the MIC to draw more of the Gen Y segment into motorcycling.

All three speakers are themselves member of Gen Y and shared their marketing expertise with MIC members.
