Motul named official lubricant of FIM

Motul announced that it has entered into a three-year partnership agreement with the international motorcycle governing body FIM.

On Saturday, FIM president Vito Ippolito and Hervé Amelot, managing director of Motul, signed the contract for Motul to become FIM’s official lubricant partner and official partner with the FIM Endurance World Championship. The contract was signed just prior to the start of the opening round of the EWC, the prestigious 24-hour Bol d’Or at the Magny-Cours International Circuit located in Nevers, France.

The Motul brand has a presence in 85 countries worldwide, and motorcycle competition plays a key part in its marketing and sales strategies.

“This is the perfect synergistic partnership for Motul,” Amelot said. “We are well known for our understanding and expertise in the field of motorsport lubricants, and the FIM is obviously the fountain of all knowledge with regard to motorcycling. Our association brings these two ‘knowledge-banks’ together for the good of the sport, and we are delighted to have the opportunity to showcase our range of specialized products to an increasingly wide international audience.”

“We are delighted to welcome Motul as official lubricant partner to the FIM,” Ippolito said. “We know the company well through their long association with major FIM World Championships such as MotoGP, Superbike, Endurance and Motocross. This partnership will truly allow our teams to share their respective expertise and we are looking forward to working hand in hand.”
