Kawasaki unveils Ninja ZX-6R, 300 in Times Square

Kawasaki Motors Corp, U.S.A., hosted the worldwide unveiling of its 636cc Ninja ZX-6R and the U.S. reveal of a Ninja 300 Thursday in New York City’s Times Square.

The Times Square event, featuring DJs, emcees, a group ride-in of the new models and a giveaway of one of each model, was held in lieu of a dealer show, vice president of sales Bill Jenkins told Powersports Business. For more on that interview and the event, read the October issue of Powersports Business.

The Ninja ZX-6R features a 636cc inline-four engine, selectable engine power models, three-mode KTRC traction control, a Showa Big Piston-Separate Function Fork, one-piece “monobloc” radial-mount Nissin front brake calipers, an F.C.C. clutch with assist and slipper functions for a light clutch pull, new sharp and aggressive bodywork and steering stem seals that produce less friction.

The Ninja 300 replaces the Ninja 250. It has a 296cc liquid cooled parallel-twin engine, a new Digital Fuel Injection system, an F.C.C. clutch, all-new bodywork, a new frame, 10-spoke 17-inch wheels, a revised six-speed transmission, the Kawasaki Air Management System and a low 30.9-inch seat height.
