Suzuki recalls 210,000 GSX models

Suzuki Motor of America, Inc. has issued a recall of 210,228 motorcycles. The recall affects 2004-13 GSX-R600 and GSX-R750 models and 2005-13 GSX-R1000 motorcycles.

“In combination with older brake fluid, corrosion of the brake piston inside of the front brake master cylinder generates gas that may result in a reduction of fluid pressure transmission to the front brake,” said the recall notice filed with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

If the above happens, braking power may be reduced.

Suzuki is notifying owners of the bikes, and dealers will be replacing the front brake master cylinder of the affected units. The recall is expected to begin Nov. 4.
