Harley-Davidson dealership expands to include tattoo shop, barber shop

News release

San Diego Harley-Davidson, California’s highest volume Harley-Davidson dealership, will open a new store on Nov. 23 at 4645 Morena Blvd. in San Diego. The dealership’s three locations will consist of the new full-service dealership on Morena Blvd., and the existing full-service dealership in Kearny Mesa and gift shop in Seaport Village.

Owner of San Diego Harley-Davidson, “New York” Myke, offers the following statement regarding this announcement: “We are growing, expanding and we still believe in the American dream. Harley-Davidson motorcycles are strong, tough, iconic freedom machines that symbolize the strength and resiliency of the United States of America and the American bikers who aren’t afraid to live their dreams. Like rodeo, rock and roll and apple pie, Harley-Davidson is America! At San Diego Harley-Davidson we believe! We believe in the products that we sell, in the people we sell to, in GOD and country and that belief has led us to grow into our new location at 4645 Morena Blvd. We look forward to seeing our old friends and meeting new ones as we continue this great adventure that we have enjoyed here in San Diego for the last 20 years. Thank You San Diego for this great opportunity.”

San Diego Harley’s new location will allow the company to have more Harley-Davidson Motorcycles than on any other showroom in California. They have completely renovated the old Howard Hughes Tool Co. helicopter manufacturing building (built in 1937) on Morena Blvd. Some of the exciting and unique features include a state-of-the-art, 20,000 square-foot Service Department, a Ride-up Service Counter, In-Store Wash Bay, an onsite Motorcycle Training Range, Multiple Customer Lounges, a Tattoo Shop and Barber Shop, a General Convenience Store, and a dedicated 5,000 square-foot Event Room furnished with a bar, pool table, pinball machine, foosball and ping pong tables. Future developments of the new San Diego Harley-Davidson Dealership include the addition of a UFC gym.

The newly renovated facility honors all branches of the Military in its decor and welcomes new riders, seasonal riders, tourists and spectators. A 70-foot high American Flag and a giant Harley-Davidson pole sign bearing the symbol known as the “Bar & Shield” will be visible from Interstate 5. The showroom floor features a Military Star blazoned from one end of the showroom floor to the other.

The Harley-Davidson Motor Company was founded in 1903 and sustains a large brand community which keeps active through clubs, events and a museum. A replica of the original factory in Milwaukee built in 1903 can be seen at the new San Diego Harley-Davidson location, which will serve as one of the store’s dressing rooms in the MotorClothing Department.

The San Diego Harley-Davidson Company has been family owned and operated for the past 20 years, purchased by “New York” Myke in 1993. San Diego Harley has a very active presence in the local community. They host countless fundraisers for charities, concerts, and biker events on a constant basis throughout the year. They have won the Best Of San Diego Award for Best Motorcycle Dealership the last five years in a row by the Union Tribune, City Beat Award for Best Motorcycle Dealership the last three years in a row and numerous Bar and Shield Awards from the Harley-Davidson Motor Company. This move signals a significant growth for San Diego Harley-Davidson.
