Dealers look to draw buyers on Black Friday

Though most dealerships aren’t joining in the fray of opening Thanksgiving night, you’d be hard pressed to find many who aren’t participating in Black Friday weekend in some way.

The editors at PSB found a wide variety of Black Friday happenings throughout the industry. Here are highlights of just a dozen of the many events we found:

Orange & Black Friday Party Weekend at Lake Erie Harley-Davidson in Avon, Ohio
Friday and Saturday

The two-day weekend party kicks off 8 a.m. Friday with kegs and eggs. Friday music by Two Guys Acoustic & Jonah Koslen and Saturday music by Ted Riser. Purchase more than $200 in MotorClothes or Genuine Harley-Davidson parts and accessories and receive a free item. Each person gets a roll at the Lake Erie Harley-Davidson craps table. The first person to spell H-A-R-L-E-Y wins a brand new Sportster Forty-Eight XL1200X. 

Black Friday Sale at Montgomeryville Cycle Center in Hatfield, Pa.
6 a.m.-5 p.m. Friday

Doors open early at 6 a.m. Friday, with better deals earlier in the day. From 6-7 a.m., receive 25 percent off; from 7-8 a.m., get 20 percent off; and from 8 a.m.-5 p.m., receive 15 percent off all purchases except pre-existing sales items. Free freight on all new unit purchases. 10 percent off special orders. Buy a $50 gift card, and receive a $10 gift card free. Then from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday, get 15 percent off all day.

Annual Black Friday and Saturday Event at Gowanda Harley-Davidson in Gowanda, N.Y.
8:30 am. Friday through 3 p.m. Saturday

The first 10 people in the door before 9 a.m. Friday receive free $25 gift certificates. Get a free $50 Gowanda Harley-Davidson Loyalty Card for every $100 spent. Spend $300 or more and receive a free $75 gift. Spend $500 or more and register to win a free overnight stay at The Great Tree Inn B&B, plus a brand new 2014 Rushmore Harley-Davidson motorcycle. 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Friday

The Ducati version of Black Friday. Door busters at 10 a.m. Snacks and refreshments all day. NU/UI game on the big screen at 11 a.m.

Black & Orange Friday at Frieze Harley-Davidson in Fallon, Ill.
8 a.m.-7 p.m. Friday

Free Sonic breakfast burritos starting at 8 a.m. while supplies last. In the MotorClothes department, deals include 20 percent off all H-D licensed leather merchandise, up to 65 percent off select sale items and 20 percent off a Frieze H-D T-shirt when you trade in a competitor’s H-D T-shirt. From 8 a.m. to noon, receive 20 percent off aftermarket P&A and get 10 percent off from noon to 7 p.m. Deals on Cardo scala rider G9 sets.

Black Friday Deals at B.A. Wolfe PowerSports in Clarksville, Tenn.
8 a.m. Friday

Doorbusters, apparel sales, refreshments and giveaways with purchases. Receive an additional $10 gift card with the purchase of a $50 gift card. Receive a free GoPro camera with the purchase of a bike.

VIB Weekend at Triple S Harley-Davidson in Morgantown, W.Va.
9 a.m.-6 p.m. Friday

The first 75 people through the door receive a pre-loaded gift card valued up to $100 to be used toward the purchase of any Harley-Davidson licensed product. Follow the dealership on Facebook for Black Friday updates.

Black Friday Sale at Road, Track & Trail in Big Bend, Wis.
10 a.m. Friday

Free winter beanies while supplies last. 20-30 percent of select in-stock winter apparel. 25 percent back in gift certificates for any purchases of parts, apparel and accessories over $50 to be used toward a purchase in December, January or February. Black Friday Sale at Southbay Motorsports in Chula Vista, Calif.
9 a.m.-7 p.m. Friday

Doorbusters 9 a.m.-12 p.m. Sale ends at 7 p.m. Some deals include: save $17 on a Nelson-Rigg motorcycle cover, more than 75 percent off Fox Duncan sunglasses, save $47.96 off a pair of Fox Rockstar Youth 180 pants.
