BMW projects 2015 motorcycle sales growth
Coming off 2014 growth, BMW Group expects 2015 will continue in an upward trend, the OEM reported Wednesday during its Annual Accounts Press Conference.
BMW Motorrad is projected to see good contributions from the new R1200 R and RS, the S 1000 RR and XR and the F 800 R, while sales over the year as a whole are forecasted to grow solidly.
In 2014, BMW’s motorcycle revenues increased 11.6 percent over 2013. Sales volume was up 7.2 percent to 123,495 units. The segment’s five largest markets in 2014 were Germany, the U.S., France, Italy and Brazil.
BMW AG is also expecting growth in revenue and sales volume in its automotive segment.
“We are targeting solid growth, and hence new record figures for sales volume and group profit before tax in the current financial year,” stated Norbert Reithofer, chairman of the Board of Management of BMW AG.
