Harley-Davidson dealership sponsors Toys for Tots ride

News release

Santa’s elves donned leather this past Saturday as hundreds of motorcycle riders took part in the annual “Toys For Tots” ride, sponsored by Ray Price Harley-Davidson and the Raleigh Harley Owners Group (H.O.G.). For the past month, the Ray Price dealership collected donated toys and bicycles to share with underserved youth in our community. On Dec. 5, riders rumbled to Lone Star Steakhouse in Knightdale to deliver toys to the Marines. Raleigh H.O.G. donated 50 bicycles and $3,000 in cash and toys to the Marines Toys For Tots campaign.

The public also came out to the event at Lone Star Steakhouse for the Toys For Tots Classic Car & Bike Show that afternoon.

“Bikers from across the Triangle hit the streets with us to deliver Toys For Tots,” said Kris Weiss of Ray Price Harley-Davidson. “We’re so pleased to partner with Raleigh H.O.G. and the Marines to make this a special Christmas for families in need. This is always a favorite charity event of the year since it helps put smiles on kids’ faces.”

Over the years, truckloads of toys along with more than 170 bicycles have been delivered to area children thanks to Raleigh H.O.G., which makes a huge impact in the community. Employees of Walmart Triangle Town Center, including Raleigh H.O.G. member Billy Marshall, worked with store manager Bobby Parnell to donate their returned and damaged bicycles. Raleigh H.O.G. members picked up the bikes, repaired them, and stored them at Ray Price to be distributed to the community this year.
