Company launches new toy Slingshot (video)

Peg Perego, a manufacturer of children’s toys and baby products, is excited to announce the launch of its Polaris Slingshot battery-operated riding vehicle. The ride-on Slingshot is modeled after the popular three-wheeled roadster that turned heads with its debut when it was launched by Polaris in 2014. The Peg Perego version is powered by a 12volt battery, can hold up to two children ages three through eight and has a top speed of five mph. It will retail for $399.99 and is available in Walmart stores, select Polaris dealers and online retailers. Manufacturing for the battery-operated Slingshot will take place in the United States, at Peg Perego’s Fort Wayne, Indiana factory.

Since its introduction, the Slingshot has received wide acclaim for its striking style and breathtaking performance. Even celebrities have been spotted in customized versions of the already eye-catching roadster.

“When Polaris first introduced the Slingshot, we were immediately taken with the dynamic design and saw the potential for an exciting and unique riding experience for children,” said Nicolas Perego, president of Peg Perego USA. “We have had great success with other products in the Polaris line, and believe the Slingshot will resonate with kids and adults alike.”

The battery-powered Slingshot will be launched in red with black accents, with the possibility of more color options in the future. Key features include:

  • Two speed settings plus reverse
  • Parental lockout for beginning drivers
  • High traction wheels that travel over all terrains
  • Made in the U.S.
