Taipei AMPA, May 13-16

Billed as the largest automobile and motorcycle aftermarket show in Asia, the 21st annual Taipei Int’l Auto/Motorcycle Parts & Accessories Show 2005 (Taipei AMPA 2005) is scheduled to take place May 13-16 in Taipei, Taiwan.
Exhibitors are expected to show everything from complete engines, frames, finished motorcycles, power trains and brakes to apparel, accessories, tires and tubes, lights and signals.
Show organizer Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA) says Taipei AMPA 2005 will attract 889 exhibitors using 2,150 booths, up from 827 exhibitors in 2004. These numbers also represent the maximum exhibition capacity at the Taipei World Trade Center (TWTC) Exhibition Hall 1, 2 and 3.
Approximately 5,500 foreign buyers are expected to attend. TAITRA says the number of registered foreign attendees at the show has grown from around 3,200 in 2001 to 3,900 in 2002 and 5,108 in 2004 (the show was canceled in 2003 due to the severe acute respiratory syndrome, SARS).
TAITRA says about 60% of the foreign buyers visiting the 2004 event came from other countries within Asia, and said Japanese buyers accounting for 20% of total foreign turnout. The remaining attendees represented North America, Europe, the Middle East, Oceania, Latin America and Africa.
