BRP Won’t Renew Brunswick Agreement

Bombardier Recreational Products (BRP) says it does not plan to renew its
supplier agreement with Brunswick Corp. for the Lund, Lund Canada,
Crestliner, and Lowe boat brands.
According to BRP Executive Vice President Roch Lambert, BRP has informed Brunswick, Lake Forest, Ill., of its decision not to renew the supplier agreement with them for these boat companies. However, Lambert said BRP would fulfill orders received through June 30 in order to support its dealers to the end of the current season.
BRP had signed a one-year supply contract with Brunswick following its April 2004 purchase of the Lund, Lund Canada, Crestliner, and Lowe boat brands from Genmar Holdings, Inc.
BRP’s decision is part of its strategy to support its independent boat builder customers. Lambert said BRP is dedicated to building relationships with boat companies and dealers that are committed to growing a successful business with Evinrude and Johnson outboard engines.
The move by BRP comes about three months after BRP said in January that it
would stop selling engines to Brunswick’s Sea Pro, Sea Boss and Palmetto
fishing boats.
