Motorcycle Forum Held in China

About 120 powersports industry professionals recently attended the first International Forum on Economic Development of Motorcycles in China, held in Jiangmen City in China’s Guangdong Province.
Speakers and attendees represented motorcycle manufacturers, research institutes and related industries from both within and outside of China. Marked by a broad range of perspectives, the event was held to discuss the future, overall direction, market environment, international cooperation, technical innovation, branding, and other key aspects of China’s motorcycle industry.
China has led global motorcycle production for the past 13 years. The Chinese domestic market for motorcycles also is the world’s largest.
Jiangmen City, the site of the forum, is home to China’s burgeoning motorcycle industry. In 2005, the city’s gross domestic product grew by 12.7 percent to 80.2 billion Yuan, the highest year-on-year growth in 10 years.
The forum was jointly sponsored by the China Agriculture Film & Television Center (CCTV-7), the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers, Society of Automotive Engineers in China and the Municipal Government in Guangdong Province.
