SIMMONS, BRP SETTLE SKI LAWSUIT
Bombardier Recreational Products Inc., Valcourt, Quebec, and Simmons Inc., Providence, Utah, have settled a three-year-old lawsuit regarding patent infringement on Simmon’s Flexi-Ski to make the Bombardier Precision ski. The amount of the settlement has not been disclosed, neither would a BRP official say whether the company will continue to make the Precision ski.

AAEN TITLE RIDE SPONSOR
Aaen Performance, Racine, Wis., will be the title sponsor of the annual Ride With The Champs, a celebrity ride and fund raiser for the Snowmobile Hall Of Fame in St. Germain, Wis. The even will take place in Eagle River, Wis., on Jan. 13, 2005.

2005 HALL OF FAME INDUCTEES
Dave and Durmont Wahl, owners of Wahl Bros. Performance in Greenbush, Minn., have been named into the Snowmobile Hall of Fame in St. Germain, Wis.
The brothers were noted for their business success as well as their winning race abilities. Dave Wahl has been a top oval racing competitor; Durmont Wahl was cited for his abilities as a technician.
The two will be inducted into the Hall on January 13, along with Myron Herrick of Minocqua, Wis., who founded the Association of Wisconsin Snowmobile Clubs; and Ted Otto of Anaheim, Calif., a creator of the Polaris Thrill Team marketing effort and a leader with the United States Snowmobile Association from its inception.

GREAT SNOWMOBILE ESCAPE
Ehlert Publishing Group, Maple Grove, Minn., parent of Powersports Business magazine, and Decker Sno-Venture Tours, Eagle River, Wis., will co-host a snowmobile tour on Feb. 17–20 starting in Brimley, Mich. The tour includes three hotel nights and four days of riding. The tour will be called the Snow Goer Great Escape. For details, call 715/479-2764.

SLED STAR
Consumers may become a sledding superstar through a contest sponsored by Tahoe Films Ltd., Swan Valley, Mont. The company is marketing a contest, where the grand prize is an appearance in an upcoming snowmobile Extreme Velocity video. The contest, called “Be Extreme,” will award weekly winners starting Oct. 11 with an Extreme Velocity: Sled Dreams DVD and chance to be selected for the grand prize. Consumers can register through the company’s Web site.
