Brake components, common parts in service departments, could be found everywhere at Indy. In fact, nearly 70 suppliers were offering calipers, rotors, pads or lines.
Popular brands on display included Braking USA, Brembo, EBC, Ferodo, Galfer, Goodridge, Magura, Spiegler and Wilwood.
Brembo’s newly formed motorcycle high-performance division introduced its new race-tested brake kits. These kits are aimed at Japanese sportbikes like Honda, Yamaha, Suzuki and Kawasaki.
Brembo’s High-Performance Division was created to serve the market of race enthusiasts directly with quick response and service. The company’s Wayne Rodgers said the new products will be sold only through specialized Brembo dealers.
The first new product is a radial caliper with attachments that are interchangeable on the standard radial forks of Japanese sportbikes. New drilled rotors are supplied in three diameters and are of greater thickness than standard rotors.
Both products are supplied in kit form. The Radial Caliper Kit includes calipers, sintered brake pads, an instruction handbook, a set of Brembo decals and a series of practical temperature stickers as used in race conditions to monitor the working temperature of the calipers. The Rotor Kit includes floating rotors, an instruction handbook, and a set of Brembo decals.
