March was another month of decreases for the Japanese Automobile Manufacturers Association’s four major members: Honda, Kawasaki, Suzuki and Yamaha. All four posted export and production cuts for the month.

Motorcycle production for March ended at 120,831 units, a 31.5 percent decrease over the same month of the previous year. This was the seventh month the manufacturers have posted a collective production decrease.

Motorcycle exports were also down for the month. In March, JAMA members exported 97,051 motorcycles, a 26.6 percent decrease compared to the same month of the previous year. JAMA members have reduced exports on the same month of the previous year for six consecutive months.
