Metric OEMs cut back on U.S. imports

Metric manufacturers imported far fewer motorcycles into the United States in February compared with the previous-year month.

Members of the Japan Automobile Manufacturers Association (JAMA) imported 28,455 new motorcycles into the United States, a 37 percent drop from February 2008.

JAMA imports to Canada also fell, although not as drastically. Those imports totaled 6,136 a decline of 6 percent.
