BMW Motorrad’s year-long worldwide sales increase continued in August, when the brand’s sales rose 18 percent.
BMW sold 6,405 units during August and has sold more than 73,000 units for the year. Year-to-date, the company’s sales have risen more than 18 percent over the year-ago period, BMW reported.
As a result, the company has expanded its global market share in its relevant markets. Sizable market share gains were reported in several European markets.
Although North American numbers were not given, BMW Motorrad officials did discuss with Powersports Business how the company has fared this year in the super sport bike market. Those details will be provided in Powersports Business’ Oct. 4 edition.
