Victory releases 2012 lineup
Victory Motorcycles has announced 15 models for the 2012 model year. All will run with Victory’s 106-cubic-inch, six-speed Freedom V-twin.
The Cross Country Tour is new for 2012. It features the new Victory Comfort Control System, which includes upper and lower air controls; covered and lockable hard lowers with a 1 gallon capacity per lower, an iPod cord to connect an iPod with the audio system and a 12-volt power outlet; a windshield that is taller than the previously available accessory tall windshield; a standard Lock & Ride trunk with 17.7 gallons of secure weatherproof storage, a padded backrest for the passenger and two audio speakers; anti-lock brakes; and heated grips and seats. The Cross Country Tour is available in solid black, solid Imperial Blue or Sunset Red over Silver.
Other models include:

  • The Victory Vision touring model features 29 gallons of total cargo capacity, a large display screen, electric windshield height control, ABS and heated seats and handgrips.
  • The Cross Roads features the Victory CORE Custom Program, which allows riders to select the bike’s color and equipment, which is installed at their Victory dealership. Options include solid Sunset Red or solid black paint, leather soft bags or hard bags and forged chrome highway bars or chrome tube highway bars. The Cross Roads also includes cruise control and standard ABS, which is new for 2012.
  • Victory’s Cross Roads Classic LE limited edition model will come numbered. Features includes classic paint and graphics, a classic leather seat and saddlebags with custom stitching, wire wheels, a windshield, a light bar, fender bumpers and saddlebag rails, as well as ABS.
  • Returning for its second model year is the High-Ball, a classic bobber. It includes adjustable high-rise ape hangers, 16-inch glass black wheels and hubs, steel spokes, whitewall Dunlop tires, matte black paint throughout, a solo driver seat and a short front fender.
  • The Ness Signature Series features three limited edition custom, numbered models, including the Victory Vision designed by Arlen Ness, the Cross Country styled by Cory Ness and the Vegas 8-Ball customized by Zach Ness.
  • The Vegas, Vegas Jackpot Kingpin, Hammer S, Vegas 8-Ball and Hammer 8-Ball are also returing to the lineup.
  • Harley introduces more 2012 models
Harley-Davidson has added more models to its 2012 lineup, while launching its Twin Cam 103 powertrain as standard equipment on Softail and touring motorcycle models and most Dyna models.
Harley will offer two new models for 2012. The V-Rod 10th Anniversary Edition celebrates a decade of power-cruiser performance, while the new Dyna Switchback is a convertible custom-touring motorcycle with detachable hard saddlebags and windshield. In addition, the Night Rod Special has significant updates for 2012 with refreshed bodywork and optimized rider ergonomics. Harley-Davidson Custom Vehicle Operations (CVO) also rolls out the new CVO Road Glide Custom, a limited-production, high-performance touring masterpiece.
Highlights of the 2012 Harley-Davidson line include:

  • The Night Rod Special is updated with new tapered tail section, lighter-weight wheels, an inverted front fork and improved ergonomics. Harley-Davidson celebrates a decade of power cruising with the V-Rod 10th Anniversary Edition motorcycle, finished in Brilliant Silver Pearl bodywork that evokes the anodized aluminum bodywork of the original V-Rod model that introduced the liquid-cooled Revolution V-Twin engine in 2002.
  • The new Dyna Switchback combines hard saddlebags and a windshield with the eager handling and Twin Cam 103 performance of the Dyna chassis. It’s a custom-touring bike ready for a long weekend trip, until the detachable bags and windshield are removed. This convertible concept makes the versatile Switchback two motorcycles in one.
  • The Fat Boy and Fat Boy Lo have a new reduced-reach handlebar for more-comfortable ergonomics. A lower, narrower seat shape places the Fat Boy rider in a new “in the bike” position. The Softail Deluxe and Heritage Softail Classic will be available with a new optional “tubeless” Chrome Aluminum Profile Laced wheel option for ease of tire replacement and repair.
  • The Harley-Davidson Sportster line appeals to a broad range of riders with six 2012 models ranging from the race-inspired XR1200X to the accessible SuperLow to Dark Custom roadsters like the Iron 883, Nightster and Forty-Eight.
  • The new CVO Road Glide Custom is one of four limited-production 2012 models from Harley-Davidson Custom Vehicle Operations (CVO), each turned out with bold paint, gleaming chrome, and the most-powerful V-Twin engines offered in production Harley-Davidson motorcycles.
