Kawasaki USA turns to UPS for distribution

Kawasaki Motors Corp., U.S.A. announced that as part of its corporate initiative to strengthen its operations, it has entered into an agreement with UPS to handle parts and accessories warehousing and distribution operations.

The company’s agreement with UPS will provide KMC with industry-leading supply-chain management capabilities. Improved technology, automation and inventory efficiencies will result in even greater customer satisfaction and improve overall operating costs.

The transition of Kawasaki Parts and Accessories Distribution to UPS Supply Chain Solutions is expected to be complete by summer 2015. UPS will operate as a supporting distribution agent and as such, will receive, warehouse, pick, pack and ship all KMC parts and accessories orders to Kawasaki’s extensive nationwide dealer network and other Kawasaki facilities.

“The agreement with UPS gives KMC the ability to combine our primary focus on marketing, sales and customer service for all our powersports and engine products with UPS’s global expertise in warehousing and distribution,” said Tom Leimkuhler, executive director of Parts & Accessories Operations for KMC.
