Buffalo Chip, Strider bikes team up for Special Olympics athletes

Strider Sports, the world’s premier manufacturer and marketer of no-pedal balance bikes, is pleased to announce it has teamed up with the Sturgis Buffalo Chip and the Rapid City FLAME delegation of Special Olympics South Dakota to make this year’s Legends Ride extra memorable for Special Olympics athletes! All Special Olympics FLAME athletes participating in this year’s Legends Ride will receive a STRIDER bike to keep!
On August 4th immediately following the Press Conference in Deadwood (between 2-3 pm), Strider Sports will present a STRIDER bike to each Special Olympics athlete participating in the Legends Ride. A STRIDER bike demo area will allow the athletes to practice and show off their riding skills alongside Legends Riders. For most of these athletes, this will be the first time riding a bike on two wheels as they don’t yet ride a typical bike.
Rod Woodruff of the Sturgis Buffalo Chip and Special Olympics FLAME have dedicated funds raised from the 2014 Legends Ride to the purchase of STRIDER Bikes for Special Olympics athletes in the Black Hills area to allow them to learn to ride on two wheels. STRIDER bikes have turned individuals with intellectual disabilities (e.g., Down syndrome, autism, cerebral palsy, or those having muscle tone and balance issues) into bike riding enthusiasts!
