PowerMadd Purchases Cobra Line from Sportech

Aftermarket supplier PowerMadd now carries the Cobra snowmobile and ATV windshield product line designed by Sportech, Inc.
Sportech, Elk River, Minn., specializes in thermo-formed plastic products for motorcycles, utility vehicles, ATVs and snowmobiles. They manufacture accessory and production components for OEMs, select distributors and private label applications.
“We see this as a win-win move for both PowerMadd and Sportech,” said Sportech President Chris Carlson. “It enables us to focus our efforts on the OE side of our snowmobile and ATV business, eliminating any perceived conflict between the Cobra brand and the products that we produce for our OE customers.”
PowerMadd, Burnsville, Minn., offers products for ATVs, motorcycles, and snowmobiles, but is perhaps best known for its line of handguards.
“This is a great fit with our capabilities and our product philosophy,” said PowerMadd President Randy Shimanski. “Cobra is a very strong brand and the market equates the name with innovation and quality. We will continue to deliver the quality and innovation that Sportech created. We are eager to work on new designs for the newer model snowmobiles and we have some great new ideas coming for the ATV market.”
