About 140 exhibitors took part in the 2006 Taiwan International Motorcycle Industry Show, held Oct. 27-29 at the Taipei World Trade Center (TWTC).
Exhibitors, including some from the U.S., Pakistan, Japan, Vietnam and India, showed motorcycles, scooters, ATVs, mobility scooters and electro-bikes; frames, engines and components; accessories and riding paraphernalia; and testing and inspection equipment. The show organizer, Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA), also held a series of industry seminars.
Taiwan has become an important production base of scooters and ATVs for many international brands, including Arctic Cat, Can-Am, Kawasaki, Polaris, Suzuki and Yamaha. In 2004, Taiwan’s powersports exports reached 840,409 units while domestic sales totaled 772,814 units.
